Chocolate Pastry (Poptarts)
This dough is so versatile and delicious!

Ingredients
- Chocolate pop tart dough :
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder
- 1/3-1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup discard
- Filling
- 3/4 cup mint dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp cream
- 1/3-1/2 cup powder sugar
- Glaze :
- 1 cup powder sugar
- 1-2 tbsp cream
Directions
- -add all dry ingredients to a bowl. Cut in grated butter. Mix to form crumbly dough. Add discard and form dough .
- Place in fridge for approx half hour.
- -prepare filling : heat chocolate and butter and cream until melted. Add powder sugar. Whisk to combine.
- -divide dough in half and roll out to a square. Cut into four lengths. Put the filling on one half and egg wash the edges, press together with fork. repeat for all sections (There will be 8-10)
- -bake at 350 20-30 mins. Whisk glaze and drizzle on top. Add crushed candy cane.
